The roles of measurement and the interpretation of data will be discussed as well as how to derive and represent a color gamut. The advantages and limitations imposed by color specifications will be presented, focusing on their implications for color quality of the reproduction. The importance of test images, reference images, standardized procedures and color standards will be highlighted.

This tutorial course is intended for engineers, scientists and managers who are new to color reproduction as well as those interested in refreshing or enhancing their current knowledge color reproduction knowledge. Jeff Burton is an inkjet consultant specializing in Color Management and Digital Printing technologies. Active in the printing and photographic industries for over 20 years, Mr. Burton was formerly with the Specialty Graphics and Imaging Association (SGIA), where he was the Digital Printing Analyst, providing market analysis and customized digital printing solutions to members companies. Jeff is a developer and trainer in color management and other workshops, where hundreds of attendees have successfully honed their skills. He is a published author in many domestic and international publications on digital printing. Jeff is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology.
